Thank you for your interest in performing at OPA. We are a small wine bar in South Austin. In fact, we are one of the last few true South Austin joints still kicking. We support local talent and in return we hope that you can support us.
There is nothing that tops the thrill of booking a gig! Okay, maybe there are a few things. When contacting John for your gig, keep in mind, he gets lots of emails, so please be respectful of response time. It's Austin! Nobody is more wanted than the guy that does the booking. That being said, keep your email short and sweet.
Please send email to opagigs (at) gmail (.) com
After you have set up your gig with John, please do your part to help promote for your show. We promise to do the same. We post our calendar on our Facebook page and on our website in the beginning of the month. We also will share on instagram, twitter, and Facebook the day of your show. We recommend you create an event on Facebook, OPA Coffee and Wine Bar in your posts, as well as submitting your event to publications like Do512, Austin Chronicle, etc. in advance. These are all free places for you to promote your show.
If you are particular about what represents your act, as we hope you are, please feel free to contact, Laura Lee, our Social Media Coordinator, with any pictures, links, etc. Contact her through the OPA Facebook Page or by emailing her at lauraleeimhoff (at) gmail (dot) com.
We are very excited to have you perform at our humble little spot. Thank you again. We always recommend you arrive 30 minutes before your set to find parking, set up, get settled, etc. This also allows for additional time "just in case" time. As for as gear, we have available for you to use:
While our gear might not be top of the line, we greatly appreciate that you treat it with respect. If you are unsure of what we have, please feel free to bring your own cables and mic.
If you do have questions, please do not hesitate to speak with our bartenders, but please keep in mind they are usually very busy helping customers and they are bartenders, not sound engineers, gear heads, or stage hands. Please be respectful of their time. Also, if you are playing inside, please make sure the volume is at a reasonable level so that our bartenders are able to communicate with customers without having to shout. Thank you very much for being the considerate musician that you are!
